Gables Good Government Committee: Mission and Goals
The Gables Good Government Committee (GGG) is a Coral Gables community organization founded in 2009 that is dedicated to the pillars of good governance in our local city government:
- Participation
- Rule of Law
- Transparency
- Accountability
- Responsiveness
- Consensus
- Equity and Inclusiveness
- Effectiveness and Efficiency
We believe these principles are fundamental for effective governance and public trust in government. We believe in the power of public participation, and we create opportunities for citizens to directly engage and be heard by elected officials and executive staff at City Hall during the decision-making process.
As residents of Coral Gables, we believe that an open, transparent process is essential for good government. As an independent organization, we advocate for or oppose proposed legislation and policies and encourage public discourse on issues. GGG does not endorse candidates. We promote good governance by providing community forums and events with our elected leaders, as well as with other officials and government experts.
Our forums are not solely information platforms, but spaces where residents can meet and speak directly with their elected officials and neighbors. The GGG members-
GGG believes ethical behavior, positive leadership and adherence to the pillars of good governance are not only aspirational ideals, but the bedrock of honest and effective local government.
If you are not a GGG member, we invite you to join our organization and become a participant in guiding the City of Coral Gables into a beautiful and prosperous future.
